Anybody know if it is possible to restrict an 850 to 33bhp? If so how much is it likely to cost is how easy is it to do?
Cheers all

How does this restricter work?

its not the parts your paying for its the certificate !!!
you buy the kit and take it to shop it gets fitted by a mechanic and the shop the mechanic sign to say the work has been done, you then sign to say that you know its been restricted and that you wont knowingly de-restrict it.
you cant do it yourself

No certificate required, it is a load of money grabbing bollocks invented to con money out of the innocent.
If the bike is tested and found to be over the power limit then poo time, so just make sure it is restricted correctly and you are good to go.
That's a load of tosh invented by the people selling washers.
As above. The Certificate is just a method used by the washer sellers to justify charging a exorbitant price for their washers.
No body, Police, Insurance or anyone else will ask you to present a restriction certificate. However there is the possibility that the Police or the Insurance will ask for the bike to be tested. This is only possible if the bike was confiscated/impounded at the time on the incident. But in almost all cases the authorities will not bother because it will cost them money as it is up to them to prove the bike is not restricted and at their expence.
I don't know how many ponies the 850 has, but I do wonder why you would want to restrict such a heavy bike?
Val.

Its up to you to PROVE that the vehicle is only 27kw
Seemingly there is a plug in control for motoworks for only 20 that restricts this bike to 33bhp.
Does anyone know if this is true? Can't see one on their site, but then it is a huge site.
Thinking of letting my lad use my 850 now he's passed his test, and that I've bought my mates 1150.
