I have a 2017 GS 1200 Rallye , when I ordered it in August 2017 I had the option of a TFT screen but decided it wasn't worth the £600. In hindsight I wish I had.
Is it possible to retro fit the TFT dash as it was an option on my bike ?

Here's hoping .

Service Manager in Hurst's told me not possible on my 750 Sport, assume it's the same on a 1200

It can be done,

But

It depends on your exact model & month of manufacture

It's not cheap and does come with some hefty work to get it to work, and it may not work fully

There is a hugee thread on the topic on AVrider

Depends on options packages fitted, I was told it could be retro fitted to my basic gsa as it has all of the sensors fitted ie computer pro , however, it will be bloody expensive after buying the tft unit and then paying for the fitment and coding if it can be done on your bike

Just upgrade the bike.

Infinitely less hassle and probably cheaper.

I used to have a 2017 Rallye and also enquired about this upgrade. My dealer went into detail with BMW about it. In short - No

Start dream sequence.......TFT thefts abound, lots of metal protection brackets, or take TFT screen into hotel along with panniers.

As long as your bike has OBD it can be done. In 2018, just before the 1250 became available a tft upgrade was offered and this dealer fitted.

They all have OBD ;) it's been an eu requirement for many years .. were currently on OBDII

Just completed TFT Retrofit to R1200GS Rallye (2017)

Hi Gurus! I have just retrofitted a TFT to my R1200GS (2017). I have successfully recoded it and all is well apart from needing to syncronise the odometer (shown in red) with the ECU. I thought I could do it using Vehicle Management - Replacement KOMBI Unit - but it doesn't offer up the procedure. I made sure the second hand odometer had a lower mileage than my bike when purchased. Bike has done 11K, odometer showing 6K. I got the VIN and odometer from the breaker of the original vehicle (R1250GS). Can this be done by ISTA+ or E-Sys, or does it need to go into the dealer?

Solved. It can be done using ISTA, it will sync the TFT display and ECU milegae to the higher of the two mileages.
