this is how I fitted my zumo 550 cost about £60 all parts from bmw

thought it may help someone it puts the unit in your normal field of vision so you don't need to take your eyes off the road the slight disadvantages are it partially obscures the tacho and it doesn't lock the unit to the bike
 
The bike wiring loom is ready to plug the garmin lead straight into the connection is taped up behind the oil cooler and has a black cover to seal the socket if not used it takes a bit of finding unless you know where to look a good torch is required

So that I can hear the directions from the unit I bought an itech clip11 mini bluetooth headset which just has one earpiece it cost eight quid from my local phone shop but i have seen them on the bay:thumb
