Hi chaps and chapesses. First posting and on the boring toic of panniers!

Has anyone retro fitted Adv panniers to a standard 1150GS - I blew a hole in the standard ones in Spain ( don't ask!).

I know that I should go the Touratech/Vern/Al Jesse route but do like the lok of the Adv kit.

Hum,

embarrassing moments - air bleed to the exhaust can (had fitted a Y piece to the mothership just before leaving for Portugal) meant exciting back fire situation across the Castillian Plain - thought it would wait until the evening. Wrong! Arrive at hotel, check in, then notice the weird red stuff all over the hotel room floor. It then emerges that the inner wall of the pannier had melted, as had the top of the bottle of synthetic. The room looked like the wreck of the Exxon Valdez. Cleaned up as best we could and left in the morning before the hotelier was properly awake. Paid cash - no card, no trace!
