"As for the phone sound, it doesn't bother me that much, since you're not expected to ride and talk. You know you're getting a call, you can answer it while pulling over. Once safely parked, continue your conversation. We bikers have problems with car drivers talking on mobile phone, so we shouldn't be doing it ourselves. Pull over and talk."
Kind of defeats the purpose of having the headset in the first place. If this is how you plan to use them, why not save a hundred quid and just put your phone to loud speaker when you stop.
You don't expect Rider to pilion to stop if they want a conversation?
I've a scala rider.. If I get an incoming call I can answer with one touch of the button at the side of the helmet. Or I can even set it to auto answer.
It's hardly the same as comparing to a Car driver holding the phone in their hand.
When on the phone, concentration does drop, so I ride accordingly (slow down, bigger gaps etc). The whole idea is of these is convenience.
Some people need to answer calls while on the move. I do, and I get strange looks at traffic lights having a conversation to myself.
Some people don't want to be a slave to their mobile phone, so loathe the idea of this...Some are at the forefront of the safety brigade, so get high an mighty about using these...
You're riding a bike, so you've already made a conscious decision about taking a risk. Using the bluetooth phone add's a very very small part to this risk.
It's like putting off road tyres on a bike you ride 99% on the road. Less "safe" in the wet..It's not for me, but I don't say it shouldn't be dont . You have your reasons for doing it so you ride acordingly...
