Looking for some good waterproof trousers to go with my Hien Gerricke Cruise Jacket. The HG Cruise ones are too bulky. Normally I wear BMW Summer Trousers and if its cold put BMW Phase Change underwear on with them.

My budget in reality is £0 but who lives in reality with credit cards, so looking at up to £200 as I have found buying cheap is often false economy.

At the moment I have narrowed it down to two possibles. HG PSX Tricky II GTX at £189.99 which I have tried on and like. Goretex and a five year guarantee with a local dealer. The other pair I really like the look of are Revit Dakar trousers at £159.99, however I can't find anywhere that stocks them in Scotland to see what they look like and what the fit is.

Anybody had experience of Dakar trousers?

Are there any similar trouser that I should consider?

Mainly after Goretex or decent waterproof breathable membrane and not bothered about thermal linning as I use my BMW Phase Change underwear in colder conditions.

Thanks Iain

The tricky II pants are the same as the cruise but with different armour in the knees, I changed mine to the soft comfort armour. The PSX is a completely different pant.
Difference is the cruise can be worn all year round due to the ventilation where the other HG's will make you sweaty.

The rev'it pants I've not tried but tried the ones above those called ultimate and they are comfy

Maybe they have changed the style/names for 2007 but the 2007 HG PSX Tricky II GTX trousers are quite different to the 2007 Cruise trousers. Good feedback about the cruise ventilation. I just think they are too bulky and the 2007 HG PSX Tricky II GTX trousers don't have ventilation. I certainly use the ventilation a lot on my Cruise jacket.

Hein Gerricke seem to change specs and names quite a bit going by some posts on this forum. I have there 2007 catalogue and that seems to be the same as the stuff in the shops. Though I note that on their web site they are called HG Tricky II GTX trousers with no PSX in the name.

The Revit Dakars do seem to have some ventilation.

Revit dealer in scotland

SHIRLAWS

I phoned Shirlaws to see if they had any in so that I could have had a look at them before going to GOC last week but they don't stock Dakars.

That seems to be the biggest issue with Rev'It stuff: the kind of dealers that stock it only seem to have their budget bottom of the range gear. The top end gear is really good quality / value and they rate it over on :adv: (maybe you'd get more feedback from them?). It's just that you can't find any stockists so you can try it on. :nenau
