Anyone got these trousers? How do you rate them for the following
1, fit
2, functionality
3, quality.
4, comfort

How do they compare to the rallye pro troos?
All help appreciated
Cheers
Ron

I have a pair, as has mate and brother in law buying some today.

Only had them for month or so and not tried them in any rain, but in the warmer weather we have been experiencing have found them to be very comfortable, practical with all the pockets.

Worn them with waterproof liners in, not sweaty at all unlike the old type.

Have also tried them with liners out and zip vents open, really good which is one of the main reasons I bought them as will be down south of France in July.

Fit is excellent I have the large in long leg as 34'' inch inside leg.

Hope this helps.

I think that there's a dealer down N'Ards or Bangor direction who stocks Rev'It gear Ron. We are going to take a wee run up in a week or two to check them out. :)

I've had mine for a year or more now.

Impressed but not without the odd hiccup.

I have had a couple of issues with the Dakar pants, no issue with the jacket. Stitching has come away in non essential areas and has been sorted without quibble.

The liners work but will leak in extremes (check out the pics above of me giving them a hard time :D:D:D).

Very good in hot climates and very comfy.

Now have an explorer jacket and Cayenne pro pants for road riding and the quality is even better.

Still using the Dakar pants and off track jacket for laning (unless I choose to go with the Husaberg enduro gear because it's garish :eek::eek::D).

I've been using the Dakar trousers for a couple of years now. Good bit of kit that comes in different leg lengths.

They have a thermal liner in them that is removable and this will keep you warm for most of the year just with shreddies. In the depths of winter, a pair of thermal long johns is enough.

Driven through torrential rain in them and stayed dry. They will need to be reproofed at some stage (Nikawax). Totally windproof and very comfortable to wear. The waterproof liner is also removable.

They have zips up the calfs with velcro fastners at the bottom of the legs. I had an issue with the lining coming away in the pockets (my fault - putting gloved hands in them is not a good idea) and the trousers were replaced under warranty:cool:

All in all, a good bit of versatile kit which I have not regretted buying :thumb

Oh..and they're way cheaper than the BUMW stuff :thumb

I have taken the liberty of marking DND Motorcycles for you, it's just off the Bangor to Newtownards dual carriageway and for out of towners probably best approached from Bangor and on your right going out of Bangor. Only a wee lane so trust your satnav, cheers,

Cheers Nigel, that's very handy. :clap

i bought these on spec from harpers (v.v.helpful) online as had no idea there was anyone stocking them over here (least of all in my home town!). anyway, got them a couple of months ago and using them to replace the BMW boulder gear. they are very good quality but haven't tested in driving rain. the only problem is that they're so damned nice looking and with a yellow bike and yellow tour-X lid, people notice you passing them and give a moan up the road if you happen to be stopped at the same place-ie, not inconspicuous. all well put together and thought out. for the money i haven't seen anything i'd rather have but make sure you get the upgraded knox back armour because the foam they come with wouldn't protect you from hard hail never mind a collision.

Thanks guys, really a great help.

Just rang DND and as usual they only keep a small stock of sizes and only reorder for the individual sale.
So cant really try on the range to find the right size as they only go in s,m,l,xl,xxl, and xxxl.
There is a size chart on the revit web page but it is only for reference, so a fitting is required to get it right. Not enough stock to to this unfortunatly.
May well take a spin out on friday just to see what its like in the flesh. cant see me ordering a size im only guessing at, could take 2 or 3 fittings and weeks of waiting.

Anyone had both the dakar and the BM rallye stuff for comparison?

If you can wait until November, pick one up at the bike show in Birmingham. I got a good bit knocked off the price there and full choice of sizes to try on.
I love mine. I dont do enough mileage on the road to warrant splashing out for the BMW gear, but as far as I can see so far, it is as good.
I have had no issues with the waterproofing, even powerwashed myself after a day offroad, and stayed dry underneath!
A few small issues to point out. The lower leg is slightly narrow, and wont fit easily over an offroad boot. Also, it would be nice if the jacket arms zipped off.

The trouser pockets are very handy, and there are loads of removable panels and zips to adjust the airflow from cold to hot weather. I find in the cold, with the zip in thermals, I only need a light teeshirt underneath. Havent really had it out in very hot weather yet. But the thermals, goretex liner, and main jacket come in three separate layers. The same goes for the trousers.

best of luck!

That all sounds good to me Thanks Dakar Gal.
Price is half that of the BM gear too which may be a factor:thumb

Feck SAke Miss out DnD! Promises to get stuff then does feck all! Another Hurts in the making!
IF you decide not to take my word and go there then IF you do not have it in your hand, the correct size, correct colour and everything else set every thing down turn around and leave! Do NOT listen to the promises! Just Go!

Kieth May Blether but he usually has the patter sorted and if he says he's gettin then he's gettin it! If he doesn't have something that will do ya then it ain't worth havin!:aidan

Was in DND today, had a look at the Revit kit, very nice, unfortunately not in the appropriate sizes for the fuller figured GSer, ha. Had to settle for a new Buffalo jacket instead, only hope it's as waterproof as it says if this weekend at Glen Clova turns out to be as wet a one as last years reports suggest. Just a thought after my directions to DND falcoron and in case you don't have GPS, as you leave Bangor at Rathgael Rd roundabout and head towards Ards you take next turn just before lights into Conlig and Green lane is immediately on left of left hand bend. If you miss it and are at the lights look up to your right and you will see DND with motorbikes and cars for sale facing dual carriageway. If you get as far as Haldane Fisher on the same side you have gone just too far.
