Much WD40 later the switch has finally give up . I read a post by Cris G in 05 about how he found the switch to be an: ITT Cannon IP67 sealed button type K12. but does anyone know where i can buy one of these (2 might be a good idea)

You could say that. I bought a load of duff switchgear a while back and refurbished them with new switches etc, offered them for exchange but had no takers. Finally sold them all on ebay and kept one of each for myself. Doddle to do.
