The kill switch on my Basic is working intermittently and taking a look it seems it might be easier to replace the whole rh switch gear that try to fix it, but I’m struggling to track down the part.

Max BMW/real OEM don’t list the basic, but it must be the same as other models - any ideas which?

I’ve looked at r100gs, r80gs, r80g/s and none of those look like what I have

Hi.
Can you post a photo for 100% clarity?
I believe your lucky, in that this part is used on all R45 R65 and all variants of Mono shock models, therefore very common..
Motorworks are showing as available secondhand, in stock.
From pictures online. basic seems to be same part.
Give Motorworks a call?
I have always found them to be most helpful.
Also, this part is regularly available on Ebay. Worth a look.

It has the combined start/kill, paddl indicator, and indicator off

interesting. Mrs Berins basic has exactly the same switchgear, both bikes German imports. Wonder if they were using up parts?

I think that part number is correct but the diagram on the eBay link is wrong- it shows the switch with on/off for the lights, whereas uk/Aus have “continuous lights” in BMW language

Switch incorporating" manual" light switch ends in part no ending 232. Part ending 233 is without manual light switch, for "lights on at all times" models/ markets

Thanks all, seem like I have the part no. now.
I’ll call Bahnstormer tomorrow, in case it’s available from BMW then try the usual places.

The diagram in the eBay link is from the BMW OEM parts ‘fiche’. They don’t draw every single part number item. If you look on a distributor site, like MAX BMW, it shows a photo of your desired switch next to the correct part number. The eBay listing is for the correct part. The diagram needs interpretation. Hope this helps.

I’ll get a price from BMW and Motorworks/motobins first, all the EBay items are outside the UK so I’ll be in for carriage, vat and customs duty.
