I have just finished checking the valve clearances and whilst doing the job shon a torch into the plug holes just to have a looksee, both piston crowns are coated with a moist black substance as though the bike is running too rich, this is confirmed by the end of the inside of my Remus can also being coated in a sooty deposit.

The bike is standard apart from a Remus Y peice with exhaust sensor fitted and the Remus Revolution can with the street baffle fitted, the Cat Code plug is the original one yellowy gold colour.

I have checked the air filter and it looks very clean, there are no blockages in the inlet snorkel or any obstructions inside the airbox,

I`ve only had the bike a couple of weeks and being new to Beemers I`m still learning the quirks but whilst riding it I think it feels a bit flat, you know just not enough zip, strangely enough the plugs are fine not wet at all and a good colour, :( I would have thought that having the remus kit fitted would have made the mixture go the other way and leaned things up :nenau

Any suggestions guys? :mmmm :mmmm

Cheers DD

put a CO meter on it.

if it really is too rich, i'd suggest that the lambda probe is disconnected/bolloxed.

A coating on the pistons is totaly normal, A: it means that it's not bore washing too much fuel and B: not to lean both show as clean piston crowns, if your worried get it checked properly at either your dealer or at a rolling road a dyno run costs about £20-£30.
