Hi All, for the last few months my 2000 1150 GS RID has had a mind of it's own showing any gear except the one selected! No problem because you usually have an idea of what gear it's in. Now the neutral green light has joined the party and it won't start. Any thoughts on how I can bypass it without having to replace all the instruments please?

Almost certainly the wiring loom shorting to the headstock. Quite a common problem for bikes from that era as the factory monkeys were too enthusiastic with cable ties. You'll need to cut the cable ties and look for a broken wire and/or chaffed insulation.
