More silly questions about the front replacement discs......................

Just got some EBC front discs.

Extract from the Motor Works site:

Unlike the original BMW disc these are handed due to the drilling pattern.

So, here we have (in the orientation they came out of the packet) a left hand disc on the left and a right hand disc on the right

and here we have the same discs with the right hand one flipped over

There is no discernible outside or inside to the disc, sooooooo, which is a left hand and which is a right hand and which is an outy and which is an inny :nenau

Yours confused of Nottingham :(

If you look closely at the disk mounting holes (oval slots for expansion) they should be counterbored to accept the bolt heads IIRC. Or am I getting confused with the rear disk mounting bolts?

You're getting confused with the rear disc my friend :comfort

Andres - No idea about the answer to your Q, but when I was looking at discs for my 09 GSA second set of wheels, I ended up speaking with EBC technical support, and the chap was v v knowledgeable. Try giving 'em a call. I may still have the number somewhere - will have a look at work tomorrow. Mike.

I suspect it's just about the swirly patterns of the holes. If you put two "lefts" on, one spiral pattern would be going the other way, and we couldn't have that, could we? Ditto two rights.

If you put the left disc on the right and vice versa, spirals on both sides would at least be going the same way... :nenau

Ah, but which IS the right way (or left way for that matter ;))

That will, I suspect, be the answer - if you still have the number that'd be great but if not no worries, should be easy enough to find :beerjug:

Thanks for the number Nice'n'Fat, one quick call and all sorted :beerjug:

For ref.

Which ever side of the bike you view the front wheel form the drilled hole nearest the centre of the disc 'leads' and the drilled hole nearest the outside of the disc 'follows'.

HTH and cheers for tall the input :)
