Called in at Clarkes BMW and Blue Bell to try and buy a pair of Ralley2 pants? Only got what is left on the hanger? Which is ok if you are a 34" waist. Since when has BM riders been slim buggers. We eat and drink so why do they not stock 38" waist. "Sorry sir new colours comming out in March. We can order some for you then". No fefin good as I need them now. Dont care about the colour.

So if they dont want my money can anyone recommend an alternative? Thanks.

Ed

Give Jim a call at Southport Superbikes (their aftersales/parts manager). If they're available, he'll find them for you, and a more pleasant a man you'll struggle to find.

Cheers, Will

Rallye 2 trousers!

Ed,

Have you tried ringing around the German dealers - Nos available through usual BWM site. I got my Rallye 2 trousers from Hammers of MonchenGladbach (Tel: 0049 2161 6947060 ask for Marwan Hijazi and yes, they speak better English than me!). At last look they had size 58 and upwards so there should be a few left.

The total cost was Euros 199.00 so about £125. They had both colours and were more than willing to accept card payment as long as you pay for the postage too. I forwarded the details to Tsiklonaut and he got some too.

Hope this helps.... :dabone

Why bother?

I only ever wear leather on my legs. I don't like the feel or bulk of synthetic bike jeans. When it rains I either put on a pair of hiking overtrousers or a one piece oversuit (both of which I carry in my panniers). For light showers I don't bother as the renapur in my trousers keeps them relatively watertight. Get yourself down to Hein Gericke. They have some superb leather trousers and their hiprotec armour is really good.

Like all generalisations this one's dangerous. Almost as dangerous as depositing fat around your middle. I think you'll find that 34" is the correct size for the waist of the adult male.

I suspect that, were you to poll the tossers on this forum, you'd find the average waist size to be in excess of 34" ;)

That's because most of them are too fat, surely...... :nenau

Depends upon the subjective measure you choose to use, and don't call me Shirley :D

So you're a bloater as well, then....

Oh crumbs, I thought that you had to be a bloater to become a fully fledged tosser. All that drinking for no need

Thanks for all the replys. A big thanks to Johnnyboxer. Found a pair at Astle's Grimsby £199 + P&P. Complete with gortex liner. :thumb

The reason I am choosing to go to this route instead of leather is due to me suffering a DVT after an 880 mile journey non stop. When the leather at the back of my knee ruckered up and restricted blood flow causing a blood clot. Very worrying?
I agree that leather is the best form of protection. However it is no good if you die from the DVT?

ps. It's ok if some live in denial and still manage to cram thier 36"/38" waist into 34" pants? :nenau

No worries mate, glad to pass on the tip.

My Goretex Leatherguard trews arrived from Astles this morning.

Very comfy too and nicely baggy at back of knees, so hopefully won't suffer DVT - inbuilt waterproofing will be great too.

Brilliant bargain @ £70 = P&P, instead of RRP of £399

Dont matter what size you are ....a nice bloke is a nice bloke...(bird).
Too much talk of size these days.
(no ...my waist is 34)
