RiDE Guide to Europe

I like to strike a happy medium, but a few folk on here seemed outraged that my last Spanish trip involved sightseeing and posh hotels rather than 12 hours riding per day and sleeping in a ditch ;)

Simon. I placed an order for the Ride Europe magazine and completed the form with all my details including my CC details for payment, I then received confirmation of my order. Since then I have had two requests to complete my order.

i got the same email, but I'd already rung great magazines earlier and confirmed my order. btw, that call took 20min queuing time, try ringing at 8am
 
The only reason I ordered on line is, I tried WH Smiths, Tesco and Morrissons then gave up/in.

If I wanted a subscription I would have taken one out, but not now!

yep me too, except so far i have had five emails, effectively saying the order needs completing, altho i also have an email confirming the order. when i spoke to the subscription dept ( one of the few options there is on their answering system) I am told its "because I must have opened another page accidently" and is not them trying to get me to take out a subscription.................even tho I made sure the correct " no marketing" boxes were checked or unchecked..

not an issue, they are now blocked direct onto junk
 
Yep! Just seems like shoddy practice. I sent an email to them and received an automated response,

Dear Sir / Madam,

Thank you for your email.

We are dealing with your request and will be in contact with you shortly.

Customer Services Team

Still waiting :-(

May just be a hick up, it does happen but poor response doesn't do them any favours :-(
 
We'll it arrived and have to say a cracking mag with lots of rides to browse. Shame about the worry that I'd maybe given my CC details to a rogue website, where as a quick response would have put me at ease....Never mind :rolleyes:

I received my copy through the mail yesterday. A great guide to some fantastic routes. I look forward to planning a few trips to Europe with it. :thumb2
I just need to work out how to download the routes...
 
Glad you've got the copies eventually guys - and sorry about the buying process. That's not something we are involved in (beyond passing on complaints) and it does really piss us all off when we hear about our hard work getting ruined by muppets putting people off the product. Normally the system does work smoothly, but I guess we only see the weakness when it gets overloaded or busy. Sorry again. If you do one of the trips and enjoy it, do drop us/me a line (likewise, if you find some extra gems I can include on another trip). It really does raise the spirits when someone sends in a pic, saying "this was on the trip you recommended". Hope you have a great ride out of it.

ordered on the 12th. still not here. sent an email yesterday asking where it is; just got one back saying it was despatched on the 12th. and allow 10 days for delivery :eek: 10 days? what post system are they using ffs. sent an email back telling them they must be having a laugh. not very good service to say the least. not your fault i know Simon so not having a go at you.
 
16 days and still not got it. asked for my 6 quid back now :comfort

bugger of it is, i had a good read through a copy at Chester train station while i was waiting for someone :D
