That’s a surprise - a Jon Urry article that I agree with 😜
It’s about time Ride realised that Peak Design is better than Quadlock.

I've had a Quadlock for a few years now, very happy with it and the protection its case gives to the phone. The Peak Design looks marginally easier to use but once you are used to the quadlock its very easy and charging is excellent so long as it is connected correctly.

The PD mounting system is in a different league in terms of ease of use ,having had both .

I may be a mile out of line, but I’m happy to be educated…

Why would anybody mount their phone these days when you can get a CarPlay device for almost the cost of a phone mount. Keeping your phone safe in a pocket or on a power supply inside a case seems a much better option when it just mirrors onto a visible display.

Am I missing something?

Yes-personal choice !

I’ve had a Chigee and 3 Aooccis on different bikes .

Put an AIO5 on Himmy 450, C6Pro on Vstrom 1050 and a C3 on X-ADV.
But I can’t be arsed with Vstrom 800 as won’tbtake it away that much, so a PD mount is neater and more suitable .
