Well my engine bars did there job but they were scratched . I don't like scratches:D:D

I've polished mine with a bit of wet and dry until uniform finish was achieved and you couldn't tell a difference. cost me, well a few pence and about 30 minutes of my time with a beer in hand.

I was worried about the dealer spotting this when getting it valued, he came back with "A well looked after bike without any signs of being dropped." it had a lie down twice, one on each side, both at the standstill :augie. One was due to steep camber, the other forgetting about putting down a side stand :blast after reacting to wife's panic on her R9T.

Have they done a write up about the Duc as a comparison? No Ifs No buts, Just a straight up comparison.

I test rode the 1250 exclusive GS. Liked it and might go back to a GS one day, KTM is a great bike and a hoot, but after 20 months of ownership, I am still contemplating whether I should've kept my GSA as wife hates the comfort as a pillion and meaning that we do not enjoy being out and about together as much as I do.
At least GS would get a wash unlike me washing my 1290 and taking it to a dealer for a service, it won't come out looking like a shed grease monkeys handy work or being given a 3 year old 1050 covered in years worth of road shite and a crackled, yellowing windshield.

Did you get swayed by someone telling you the 1290 was the best bike ever , until they sold theirs and bought a different brand ? ;-)

No the best bike for the alps...King of the Alps again for 2020 is the mighty 1250GS with sports suspension:thumby:...beat out the 1290 KTM ADV and the 950 MS...Just to let you know the new Africa Twin came last of the 6 they took over the passes...They as in a bunch of journos from Motorrad & other european magazines...But we already knew that...:D Even the S1000R was up there in 4th spot ! For some reason the R1250R was not part of the test which would have been interesting to see the difference between T-L / fork , 19" vs 17" front wheel...But I'm sure the Gs would have handled it...;)
