had a ride on a f800gs on Friday from Clark's first impression was how light compared to my 1150 so of i go and first thing i notice is the throttle is very sensitive then into an island and its not so planted but hay soon get used to that, the next thing i notice is that it has vibes :( i like the riding position but think it must have the lower seat as not as much leg room but i do some town and then some dual track some A roads all OK but then found a very wet and muddy single track road BRILLIANT this is where the lack of weight comes in i don't ride of road but do like to find roads like this so then wend my way back to the shop with a VERY dirty gs :augie .
I set of home on the 1150 after a very enjoyable hour or so then as i am riding home i realize how much i love my old 1150 and so i will not be swapping it for a 800gs in the near future, on its own the 800 is a very good bike but not for me (at the moment until the 1150 is to heavy for me:rob) must try a 1200 next.

I had one as a courtesy bike today whilst the GSA was in for its first service - have to say I was a bit underwhelmed - I suspect if I'd never ridden a 12 it would have been great but it felt very skittish on wet corners, the seat was hideous and it seemed very heavy (and top heavy) given its substantially smaller (and lighter) lump.....
Getting back on the GSA was like sitting in a sofa
Buy a 1200!
