a few (crap) photos taken on my phone from a run I took on Saturday. Headed off to Letterkenny from Coleraine first thing, visited relatives and backtracked to An Griannan fort which I hadn't seen before:

Headed across the causeway to Inch Island, another first for me:

Then over to the military museum (is it Dunree - can't remember the name :o )

Colours are stunning at this time of year and the roads empty...

Mamore Gap - I recently broke my right wrist in 3 places and had it plated so the curves and hills were great fun...

I liked these wee houses (zoom on camera ain't the best):

And then up towards Malin Head

On the way up to Malin Head there was a sign promising a drivethrough cafe - I assumed it was a joke but there is in fact an enterprising englishman there who serves great coffee and takes your photo for you :thumb2

Another milestone in the bike's life reached, not in quite so glamorous a location as Morocco in April when it rolled its 20000's mile:

Thanks to whoever planned the Run To THe Hills 2008 road ride because this is the route I loosely followed.
221 miles later I parked back up in the garage... :beerjug:

Think Café Banba is the place the Celt was looking for in Bray...............:D:D

Great pics Dave, been there many times and never tire of it, also Fanad lighthouse direction, cleared my head up that way many times after travelling from Ards, cheers

Hey cruiser - PM me your email address and I'll send you the garmin route...

That would be Jockser and myself David. :) Did you stop for a bowl of soup in the pub at Caratra?

Well done! Great run... That pub looked inviting but I wanted to push on and catch the ferry (which didn't sail when I thought it did so I just rode home. Will know to try the pub next time out... :thumb2

Ferkin Gorgeous part of the country, totally gorgeous!
Fair play to yer man with the van, he must have taken a good run at it to get up to the top...

Went to Monaghan and back yesterday/today and instead of staying on the bypass roads between Carrickmacross and Monaghan went back road via Ballybay. Great road for the bike, lots of joined up bends. Just watch out for the odd agricultural vehicle!

It's an option if heading North West from the Dublin area, and have some time to spare/are bored with the main road.

......

agreed. i love the area.
am a little biased though - i spent every Summer as a child a stones throw from The Gap of Mamore ;) - all i had was a bicycle nicked off me cousin to get around on or occasionally a donkey! but i explored every inch of the place from Dunaff Head to Lenan Head - on the sea side of the Gap that i possibly could. :thumb2

*sigh* :) happy times.
