Took a wee run (291 miles) round Donegal - couple of places I wanted to see which I'd never been before i.e. Horn Head and Glencolumbkille (seem to be a couple of spellings of this place).
Headed off with Stuart on his VFR bright and early, headed straight for Letterkenny and had a lovely breakfast in Cafe Sienna (well worth a visit!)

Headed out the N14 past Ramelton and up towards Portsalon:

There's a beautiful set of downhill hairpins just before Portsalon:

Then the GPS took us down a few boreens which shook the teeth out of Stuart and his VFR:

Stopped on the pier at Portnablagh for a pee:

Back on N56 - first time I've seen Errigal with no cloud:

Stopped at the Butter Rock Cafe for a lovely lunch in Dungloe. Then it was off to Ardara and out to Glencolumbkille:

nice shot of errigal, brings back memories of walking up it one night in january at about eight at night, with the rain coming at us upwards  Then to the pub;)

Good write up and pictures David, the twisty bit before Portsalon is the famous Knockalla Rally stage which is used every year in the Donegall Rally and a hill climb in September. The speed the cars go up it is impressive. :thumb2
