Ride to the Wall 2011.

All things going to plan we will be there:thumb2

Signed up ages ago - went last year. AMAZING turnout!

This year has the potential to be even bigger what with the 7 start points to help with congestion etc.....oh, and then there is the small thing of the weather.......last year it pished it down.......not this year!

Safe Riding to all those 'Remembering'

I didn't pick up on this thread until I searched 'ride to the wall' this morning, but what an event!:bow Having no direct connection to our armed forces, but very respectful of everything they do I found it a moving and inspiring occasion. Not just people from the UK but far flung parts of Europe too. Few picks below for those who'd like to see what it is all about. 5 of our group started from Cherwell Services on the M40 but they quoted between 12,000 and 15,000 present at the National Arboretum yesterday.

I'll definitely be going back to this event, but might make my own way there. The convoy was better suited to the wall-to-wall of Harley riders that were present.:augie

It was a brilliant day, maximum respect to those that have fallen or been injured, their families, event organisers, marshals, members of the public that waved and cheered the riders on their way and the riders that attended and paid their respects in absolute silence for The Last Post.

I've been every year, it's one of the first things in the diary every year :thumb2

This year was the biggest and the best, helped no doubt by the weather. All those rice rockets and GS riders just don't seem to turn up when it's cold and wet :toungincheek

As the event was originally organised by HOG and was almost exclusively HD for the first two years it's hardly surprising

Ah! That explains a lot! I don't think I've ever seen so many Harley's in one place at one time! There were some great looking bikes around!:thumb

its a great place, I have a few friends whose names are on the wall and I try and do at least one trip a year there with my Cadets.
Must pay more attention and try and do this on the GS next year.
