If I’ve offended some then I apologise. It could have been worse. I didn’t go full Geldorf. My only motive was to bring attention to a worthwhile cause that was receiving little oxygen.

In my defence what JJH says isn’t strictly true while I understand why he said it. At the time of posting there was little evidence of UKGSER involvement, anonymous or otherwise so if nothing else it’s created some attention. Thank you to those who have put their hands in their pockets, and those who hopefully intend to. At the end of the day this is about a couple who’s lives have been changed forever because of an unfortunate accident. Nothing else is really important.

Apologies for the delay - an update:

The appeal raised just short of £4,000 altogether, which was passed on to Jono and Aoife. They were overwhelmed by the support they received.
Jono is still in the spinal unit, but they are now at the stage where they are trying to identify a rehabilitation centre where Jono can go before he eventually returns home.
Everything moves at a glacial pace and it must be massively frustrating for them both. Members of the club are continuing to visit on a weekly basis to offer what support they can.
