We have just got back after a long weekend spent in the Central Massif region and staying at the Riders Rest. A friend from work and myself left on Thursday for the overnight crossing from Portsmouth to Le Havre. Brittany Ferries were efficient and the cabins clean, tidy and functional. The bikes were secured quickly using nice big pads.

We left at 22:30 on Thurs night and arrived at 07:30 in Le Havre amidst a downpour which thankfully only lasted 30 minutes and that was the last we saw of any rain for the weekend. The run down took in 387 miles and for the most part we used toll roads on the way down. We didn't use any more after this and made the trip back toll free.
We arrived at Riders Rest around Tea time and were met by Tony and Wendy who were the perfect hosts all weekend.
After an evening meal and a few beers we settled down with a mind to the events to come the following day.
We set off in the morning after a full English breakfast and immediately started to enjoy the sweeping roads and blemish free tarmac.
En-route we stopped for photo opportunities.

There were many places along the way that had us chatting through our comms and places to stop and take it all in.
Our first day showed us amazing roads and stunning scenery with the only gripe being the Tom Tom satnav we were using on the other bike. It was likely to be our fault and operator error but the most reliable directions we got were from an app on my phone. I really need to look at and invest in something better.
One of the views on the way back and part of day 2 and approximately 200 miles.

Day 3 had us up, full English Breakfast and out on our way to Rocamadour. The roads were again very special with more photo opportunities.

We had lunch at a very nice restaurant and soaked up the view.
We enjoyed fast open roads and trundled through pretty little villages.
We stopped for coffee or a leg stretch before seeking out more roads.
Sonny found a new "best friend".

And before long it was time to pack up and head back for another overnight ferry.
So all in and after 4 days and 2 overnight crossings we did 1260 miles and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
I realise this will not meet with approval from some as I didn't take any pictures of my food. I was too busy eating it....

And all the better for no photos of food :beerjug:

Great area for riding.
