Ridge Monkey - anyone tried one?

Another one for 'ace in a campervan' but not for 'lightweight/minimal camping'

Our’s is essential kit in the camper van but don’t take it on our camping in the tent trips - just use the mess tins.

We carry and use x2 of the largest ones in moho. Univerally useful, older ones have a fixed hinge, the newer ones that split are way better, easier to handle and clean etc.

I can't have been the only one wondering.... to save you googling it too, I think this is what we're talking about. I see neither ridges nor monkeys so I could be wrong!

I can see the attraction in a camper van, it basically looks like a frying pan with a lid, to stop it spitting fat all over your camper!

Originally sold to fishermen for knocking up toasted sarnies. I agree that it’s basically a frying pan with a lid. We use it to make toast, frittata and cook sausages. We even make pasties (partially cooked filling) at home which we bake in the RM. Really good, hard wearing non stick and, once heated up properly, works well as a mini oven. There are a few Fbook pages with recipe suggestions.
