When you get hot enough you will gladly stand under any suitable water source or jump in the nearest river wearing all your gear
I find a wet hankerchief tied around your neck helps as does filling your boots, gloves and lid with water and riding with your visor up
There is no gear except the still suits racers wear that will keep you cool when it's really hot.

I use the Rukka APR suit, it has enough armour for gentle stuff and with the liner removed is fully ventilated (its all a very fine mesh) the only problem being what to do with the liners when touring (they would fill the smallest 1200 vario pannier) i carry an extra stuff bag for them and just strap it to the bike when needed

Just run a hose over yourself when possible or even jump in a river fully kitted (take yer helmet off) It feels fantastic when you start to move again.

Also i've found when it gets really hot a fully faired bike is quite handy despite what some may think, 40C hot air blowing over you is not that pleasant.

Often rode in the summer in NC, SC & Florida, normally wore ventilated leathers with "wicking" undersuit but on extreme occasions I wore a Kushitani ( sorry ...I love the kit) ventilated ballistic Nylon jacket. Has slip in armour at vital points just in case..Not sure if available over here though....Secret is to keep moving, most all inside areas are air conditioned which offers sweet relief.

It gets quite hot down here and I use Draggin jeans and one of their jackets, both are cotton with Kevlar patches. Wetting the jacket really works, I just take it off and put it under a tap.

Schtum, I ride in the heat all year, as I live in Malaysia, just a couple of degrees off the equater.

I use a japanese brand of jacket that is fully armoured but has open mesh on the inside of the arms, lower back (above the armour) and chest area. This allows the air to flow when riding and combined with a wet (sweater) tshirt keeps me very cool. I buy this stuff in Singapore, I'll chen the brand at the weekend and get back to you, as I'm traveling at the moment. Its extremely well made and relatively cheap, I bought a jacket for my som last week for Sing $ 170 which is about 60 quid. Of course if it rains you get wet, but then in 35 degrees C you dry out pretty quick anyway.

Thanks for that, Dean. I think I should be ok in my Belstaff Adventure jacket with its vents open to the breeze and a friend has asked me to road test a prototype mesh jacket which he's designed.
