The best road of the entire coast to coast journey from NYC to LA. You guys will probably have watched a video by Rnickeymouse who sits on the corner and films people crashing. This road is incredible :)

I hope you enjoy watching it :) I'm quite proud how much of a lean I got :beerjug:

Looks like a nice road.:thumb

This lot will find it boring, as you didn't fall off.

What's all the jabber going on in the background?

Next time try smooth and not threppenny-bitting most of the corners.

Best road in USA? It's not the best road in Los Angeles - that's the Los Angeles Crest Highway :thumby: One of the best roads I've ridden. Sixty-odd miles of deserted mountain road (although it's busier on a weekend apparently :bow

I'd also recommend the Stovepipe Wells to Lone Pine road out of Death Valley, the Million Dollar Highway in Colorado and the Big Sur section of the Pacific Coast Highway and there must be dozens more.

The Mulholland Highway is too built up and has too much traffic. We didn't even get to sample the Rock Store, but it was a Thursday afternoon.

The USA is littered with brilliant roads to ride and all have their plus points depending on what you are after.

The run up to Mt St Helens and back is superb and Hwy 22 from Missoula to Lewiston is staggering (202 miles of corners) but one of favourites is a road through Rattlesnake Canyon on the Idaho/Oregon border. It's tucked away in the middle of nowhere and almost completely devoid of traffic. I've let the peeps who come to Alaska with me in on the secret and they all love it:thumb

Since we're now onto critiquing, I would add...

Don't keep varying the throttle mid corner either, and get on the gas much earlier in the exit.

Then there's choosing a line for one corner to set up the next....

These words from the delusion zone.

of course, if you'd had a helo filming you , you could see the pitfalls....and maybe some firey's tagging along behind in case you fell off ( if they were free from there day jobs )...:mmmm

Is there anything more boring than watching someone elses bike riding video?

As Sven says, the Million Dollar Highway in Colorado is a brilliant ride, as is the ride down into Kings Canyon in California. Highway 12 in Utah along the Hogs Back is also a cracking ride. There are so many great roads that I'd say that it is impossible to narrow it down to one.

I'm sure one of the reasons Ted Simon lives in Covelo, N California is for the road to the highway, it's a stunner!
Then there's USAL road.......

Enjoyable Vid and a great road. I did it a few times donkeys years ago.
When i lived in San Raphael the Sundau morning ride was Highway 1 north of the GG bridge.
Very hairy i recall.

I've ridden Mulholland Drive and what the video didn't show was just how much of a switchback it is in places. Lots of extremely tight bends and all second and third gear stuff. It was quiet when I was there but I guess get's crowded at weekend. Nobodys mentioned Deal's Gap and the Cherohalla Highway, fabulous roads too, but in the east.

I suppose any road with bends in it is a bonus in the USA:eek:.......LOL

All those solid lines and Police activity must put a damper on it as well:nenau Still the sun was shinning and the road was dry so not all bad:rolleyes:

The tyre marks from the cars drifting round the tight bends were unbelievable - I'm not surprised the police take an interest in the lunacy seen in YouTube videos :eek

I can only assume from your post that you havnt done a lot of biking in the US.
Taken me a long time, but Ive managed to ride thru 32 States.
Probably some of the best paved ,and unpaved roads ive ever ridden.:rob
