I recently bought a Shark Evo helmet and find Im riding 90% with the chin guard rotated leaving me with an open face helmet. I have also fitted a Wonderlich adjustable screen trim and find I can ride with the visor also open up to 70 mph, my toughened specs give me eye protection.
Im finding people react differently to me, because I don't look threatening. I always try to be a considerate rider and Im getting a lot more smiles and waves from horse riders and car drivers etc. When I pass dog walkers or families who step back off the road as I approach I can now say thank you and am often rewarded with a wave and a thanks back.
When consideration fails and you come across a group of cyclist who refuse to let you pass despite several opportunities its also much easier to let them hear your frustration, (PS if this happens to you two bikes abreast can go so slow the following cyclist cannot balance, its a lovely sound hearing their shoes detaching from the pedal clips going up Hardnot pass. They were total tossers though)
