This is a great site.

Many newbies to French touring would do well to leave the Alps/pyrenees for another year and ride these routes instead. I've dipped in and out of this area for the past 10 years and always enjoyed it.

The area can be reached easily from an early morning channel ferry avoiding a long autoroute drag. It is usually cheaper, quieter and cooler than the South in mid Summer.
