Riding through the winter ?

I have an Exo2 storm rider heated waistcoat and rate it very highly. Self regulates to 50 degrees, which is perfect over a T and sweater. They do a control module too, but you don't need it.

Slid off i the ice last year, but it didn't put me off. That's what crash bars and body armour are for!

Sorry guys but go buy a snickers, unwrap, eat and get some nuts.
a set of karoo 2 tyres and get up on them pegs for better balance. youll have lots of fun and it will improve your riding skills.
i use copious amount of scotoiler winter spray and swill off after each ride.
after one hard winter the bike still looks like new. pay lots of attention to the chain to and enjoy the bike for feck sake, sorry about the rant but when i listen to some comments i wonder why you have a gs,if you dont want an allrounder go get a sports bike and bring it out on sunny days.

well almost. dropped my bike a few times but the adv spec bars did the job and no damage, plus i aint a young spunker and its character building to carry a few aches and pains .

As someone who effectively works as a contractor if I get damaged, or my bike gets damaged I don't get paid for being off sick. To me, that's too big a risk to take to end up out of work and with zero money coming in. For the odd day it might happen, I'm happy to wuss out and take a cab.

I came off in a blizzard last year and all it cost me was a new rocker cover. Could have been a lot worse.

Temp gauge read -7 at one point riding home last night, 60 odd miles
need better gloves/muffs. Toasty warm otherwise, fine blanket
of snow this morning. I guess winter is here.

edit: just used a handy wind chill calculator:

and -7 C at 60 mph gives a chilly -21 C , which I think is officially
bleeding baltic.

Stay warm and safe.

Sod that. 34 years of getting pissed through wet and freezing cold. My 800 is for pure enjoyment now.

No, leave them on. The muffs transform your riding experience, no more cold wet gloves.....

Couldnt get mine on with the plastic deflector bits on, so unscrewed them, and left the metal crash bars in place. The muffs fit fine and the bars stop the muffs being pushed onto the levers when 'making progress'

I s'pose it depends what ones you have, mine are Touratech with extra bits on top which I had to remove now that I think of it....

My Tucanos fitted over my brushguards - just ... but I needed to make a hole in the side of them (it was a lot easier doing that after I dropped the bike in last year's ice...) to zip-tie them to the aluminium bar which stopped them rotating back off the guard ...

However ... once they're fitted make sure your gloves don't snag inside them... DAMHIKT - but needless to say if you have articulated knuckle protectors you might have a problem getting your hands out in a hurry

Well I have to say I took the advice of folks of this parish
and bought a set of muffs from Val H. And yep +1 on the advice
, temp gauge read -4 this afternoon on the way home, summer gloves,
heat grips on first level,too hot of level 2! ... bleeding marvellous
.. as others have said why didn't I do this 20 years ago....

Now just need to organise a salt grittier machine to be continually an hour
ahead of my route and all will be good Black ice = scary,new pants
