If i get the first morning ferry to Ceuta, what time will i arrive in Marrakech?
Two Gs's, gunning for the hotel....
cheers nige

It took Mark H and I eleven hours from Marrakech to Ceuta, using the new motorway. We weren't exactly caning it, so if you were to press on you should be able to do it in less. That does include passing through the border though, which was quicker going out than coming in.

It's just under 400 miles, most of it at national speed limit.

Watch out around Rabat...even though it's a motorway, there's a crossroads on it :blast and a few speed traps :blast:blast and lots of Gendarmerie Royale down a bit further around Casablanca.
Refuel at the services immediately after Settat 'cos there's fekk all fuel from there 'til Marra.

:)

Cheers guys, what provoked me into asking this is, in bike this month, he said he got to Casablanca by 8 in the evening:nenau

Don't forget that you will gain at least one hour over Spanish time, Morocco stays on GMT, the clock goes back when you cross the border. :thumb

Left Marrakech at midday, got to Tanger at 16:45 .... with a 45 minute fuel and burger stop. So only 4 hrs riding time Tanger to Marrakech ... on 90 odd mph the whole way on the motorway ... and guessing you add 45 mins to an hour for Ceuta ... cause some new branch of the motorway seems to go pretty damn close to Ceuta.

Its boring that way, but we had some administrative delays in Marrakech and had to leave as late as possible ... and had to make a 18:30 boat in Tanger .. which was made very easily as it turns out even leaving Marrakech at midday.

As others have said, watch for traffic lights and radar cops in abundance at the 20km non-motorway section near Rabat.

If you are gunning it on the big bikes I am guessing it will take you less than an hour to Tanger, 2 hours Tanger to Rabat, 40 mins Rabat to Casablanca, and about 1hr 40mins Casablanca to Marrakech. ... its not long at all on the motorway. If you took a 7am boat, and cleared the border quickly, bearing in mind you make an hour back, you could be in Marrakech for lunch if you gunned it with just one short fuel stop ...... but really not sure thats what you should be aiming for, unless you have a early deadline in Marrakech

Thanks for that Colebatch:thumb2
That was 100% everything i was wanting to know. It gives us plenty of time for the run to Marrakech.
Thanks again

Exactly what Colebatch said. London to Marrakech is now 3 days ride. Long days admittedly, but easily doable. I left Marakech around 9.30 on Saturday morning and was back to Cueta by mid-afternoon. Watch out for the speed traps though - they're on all the motorways.
