I've got me Etrex Vista cool, I've got Mapsource thingy of the whole of Europe, and Autoroute Express on me PC.

Can I plan a route using Autoroute express and suck it in the mapsource and squirt it in to me Vista or am I missing the point.

G...

No
And yes.

The e-trex vista has 24MB of map memory and does NOT support auto-routing.
You will need to create LOTS of waypoints along the route you want and try to follow them.
The method I used was to put a waypoint just AFTER a turn. you then have to watch the distance and direction arrow and the map. Then, when the distance is small and the direction arrow starts to turn, you then know it's time to take a turn.
The SPIII is much MUCH easier to follow.

I do the same it works a treat... and once you get use to plotting a trip in this way you'll find it quick to do.

Plotted a route from the very top left of the Dales to the bottom right in a few minutes and it worked a treat.

And off course you decide where you want to go for as Howard says:

That's alright for those that want to follow!!!

I use Autoroute and GPSU. Work fine for me. However, I found dificult to mark/create waipoints in Autoroute 2000. If I clik whre I would like the waipont to be, the damm thing (the route) turn to blue and nothing happens
Anyone has a trick to do this?

Dohhhh

OK I'm a twit, just had another play with me Map-source software and it does do routes just like MS Auto Route. Forgot my wire today so I'll try and download one tonight.

Also the penny's are dropping with the way points thingys - their points along the way sort of thing aren't they..

Tried the SP111 but couldn't read the screen without me goggles on so thats why I went for the Vista

Mr Yosi whats a GPSU?

Mapsource

I also have a Etrex Vista only just got it so still learning, however, I have successfully created a route in mapsource and downloaded it to the gps. Seems to work fine but need to test it on the road later today. I will let you know how it performs.
