My right indicator switch on't handlebar appears to have ceased to function. :duno Anyone had any prior experience of this - and more importantly how easy is it to fix.
It's on a 2006 plate.
Cheers

A common fault . you can get a very similar replacement from Farnell uk. someone will be along in a minute with a part number. I found the Farnell ones quite difficult to solder and ended wrecking them . I ended up replacing the originals with small starter switches from Maplins that cost about £2.50 each . HTH :beerjug:

YOU'LL FIND WHAT YOU NEED HERE I THINK

I stripped my left switch cluster last weekend (to fix a failing indicator switch) and found two unused (spare!) micro switches in there (would put switches on top RHS of cluster - don't know what they'd be for?).

Might be worth a look :thumb

The plot congeals - I blasted the area with a points cleaner and it worked. Then it didn't - however stopping the engine then restarting the bike seems to make it work!?!?!?! WTF!
Will have a look and see - if you have spare swithes can we come to an arrangement if I can't find them on my bike!

The switch is only a low power contact switch that tells the ZF unit to put the indicators on. It probably isn't even 12v and may only be 5v. If any moisture at all gets in, the ZF unit thinks its pressed so puts the indicator on. You might actually be better using WD40. Drying it out with a hair drier will also work until it gets wet again. I am sure I have even seen someone dry it out then put the end of a finger from a rubber glove over it to keep it dry.

Indicators

Had a lucky escape on my 1150, summersauted it on a poodle around at 85mph (thanks to BMW adventure crash bars!!) and ever since the left indicator aswitch kept sticking on. So, pho ned alaround bno s/h ones available so finally bit the bullet and started to remove switch. got the cover off and it appeared to be cured!, re-assembled it and bingo all ok. The impact must have dislodged the two parts of the cover and that was the prob!! ureka.
