Right leg under thigh getting cooked

Is there any correlation between those with heat issues and blueing on the horizontal section of the exhaust pipes? I don't have a heat issue with my late 2016 Euro 4 bike and my pipes are still shiny chrome on that section which I doubt would be the case if it was glowing red hot like the photos above.

My exhaust is blue all the way to the silencer on the 2017 gsa and the heat is that intense the number plates melted out of shape.

That is very, VERY wrong. Show those pictures to your dealer pronto.
Could be exhaust valve seat gone and letting by gasses.

I have been showing my dealer these photos and my own video and they still say they can't find an issue. Mine has been serviced and the software updated and is now awaiting a road test. this has been dragging on for weeks now! I am of the opinion (and I've told the dealer) that the exhaust valve in the silencer works when cold, they confirmed it is working correctly, but I think it sticks shut or doesnt move much when hot. My pipes are blue from front to back now inc the cat. No wonder my feet are burning!!!

Ishawy, keep the pressure on ,it was my bike that Bowkers returned to BMW, if they've had more than 2 attempts to rectify the fault, then the Dealer/Manufacturer are obliged to replace the vehicle with a like to like product, in my case it was a new bike as the original (faulty one) was only 6 months old, I couldn't fault the system it worked for me, and BMW are aware that certain bikes are affected , and I never did find out what the actual cause was ,but the new bike is great with no issues, cheers Livo.

Livo, can you let me have your reg number so I can quote it to BMW? and I'm assuming it was Bowkers Motorrad in Preston that helped you out?

Are both headers getting hot or just the right ? A sticking shut(partially) flappy valve should not cause that over heating, also I think it would be noticable as a performance drop as it would hinder the gas flow. Have you looked down at it when riding, is it glowing then ?
I don't know if a very lean AFR could cause that much heat.
I am suprised the dealer is not taking it more seriously, something is wrong and something expensive is going to happen if it is not fixed.

The hottest EGT is at an AFR of lambda=1 which is 14.7:1 for gasoline. Since this is where our bikes are designed to run, the is no mixture condition that results in a hotter EGT.

In order to get a hotter temperature in the header, some of the combustion process has to be happening in the header—misfiring is one possibility (but you’d hear it), perhaps valve timing is another.

I wonder if it is possible to install the cams in the wrong relative positions, or alternatively to have manufactured them incorrectly to give the same effect?

I guess that if there is a manufacturing fault resulting in the cam lobes being misplaced, then setting the camshaft position using the special alignment tools is not going to help.

My (and other affected riders) issues have only just started. My bike was fine until July then it suddenly changed so engine manufacturing isn't in question. Something has broken/moved/changed overnight. It wasn't a gradual thing either. Out for a ride one night just started getting hot right foot and leg and has done so ever since. That was July 11th. Still not sorted.

I spoke to hilltop a couple of weeks ago, and he insisted on the bike being there and is reason for that was because its a gsa lc......

Has your bike been Hilltopped?

No! But i rang him to get his advise, and he advised a remap, and he said the engine would run a lot cooler because of the richer remap. He recommended that the bike was brought to him rather than post the ecu.
