right or left indicator going off by itself ???

i have noticed that sometimes any indicator just goes off by itself .....!!!!!!!!

any idea ???

I think you'll find it's called self cancelling indicators. And if the brakes on they don't. HTH.

Blimey, where do you lot find the time to count how many flashes the indicators do whilst riding?

ISTR the indicator flash duration before self cancelling is governed by the wheel rotations (and thus the distance travelled).

It does seem to be in the realms of 200 yards or so travelled before the indicators self cancel

there's another thread about this...much research, someone's nearly completed a PhD on the subject...but useful for M'ways less good on big roundabouts as they cancell before the turning comes up...

On regular speed 50km/h it flashes 22 times. If slower it does not cancel itself at all...
