RIP 650 single BMW's ......

I've had these engines in various bikes since a funduro in '94. Now running x challenges.

Really like them for my purposes; low maintenance, frugal and reliable.

That said, old in design now though, and surpassed by the likes of the ktm units. Will be interesting to see how they hold up over time.
 
They were Rotax engines weren't they?

Indeed they were. The later G650GS being made and assembled in China.

I now have what I consider perhaps one of the best incarnations ...

The G650Xcountry ... assembled in the Aprilia factory, engine supplied by Rotax

Wilbers front springs and oil, Wilbers rear unit, Akropovic full titanium BMW exhaust, re map at Hilltop, Xchallenge sump guard, Peli Top Case wired with 12v for charging phones etc. HotRod X-Tank for the longer journey's .... plus lots of other little mods :thumb

Money well spent Micky it looks brilliant and from what you have done on the suzzys and exhaust I bet its great to ride and listen to.
 
Has the G650GS been dropped perhaps to make way for a GS based on the G310 or maybe even a new 650?
