Mrs Macker and I spent the day on Thursday at the NW200 and watched this young lad in the paddock sign autographs for fans. It stuck me that he looked so young among the other competitors. It's always sad when someone is killed at any of these events but particularly so for one who was just starting to deliver on the talent he so obviously had.
We all know that riding motorcycles brings risk, but whether you're racing at the Northwest 200 or pootling down to the shops on your gs1200 to fill the panniers with claret you don't give too much thought to not making it home that evening.
Carpe Diem

Thoughts go out to friends and family. He died doing what we all love, a great loss. RIP

So sad, a bright rising star taken away so young. A talented young lad doing what he loved but something went wrong and he paid the ultimate price. My sympathy lies with his family.

There's an excellent article in the Belfast telegraph about malachi very very sad. I have video of the race start which I can't watch.

I was in the pits yesterday and seen this young lad pass by a few times.

He looked calm and focused.

A friend chatted to him on Thursday and note he was a really nice lad.

I'm a massive fan of the super twins and watched the race go, then followed it on the big screen.

Then the red flag went up and a few snippets of info came back, as time passed we all knew it was looking like a serious incident.

A sad loss at a young age, may he RIP, my thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I first saw him at the Mid-Antrim 150, I was surprised at his youth but happy to see him posing for photos with kids & fans - he just seemed like a really nice bloke. Then he got on his bike and absolutely blew away a lot of more experienced racers!
I was really looking forward to seeing him race at the NW200, I was there on Saturday, and was really gutted to learn that he was the rider who was killed.

RIP Malachi.
