I think it's more rip off Britain than rip off Rukka as you can get their stuff much cheaper from Germany, as I did last year. More a case of the importer/retailers milking us for what they can get away with

Have a look on here for a fella called 'Jenks' I think it is. He's a Rukka retailer. Worth a try I guess

It may be more a question of how much the UK importer is selling items to individual retailers , than you being ripped off ny either Rukka or the retailer.

No doubt the well known german retailers whether they be Louis , FC Moto or Bikerland are buying in such large volumes that they are able to get massive discounts from the German importers and in part pass them on to the purchaser.

When I bought my Arma S jacket they were retailing in the UK at £1098, at the same time they were advertised in Louis for 1098 Euros which due to the exchange rate at the time was around £850 , however it was in a sale at 799 Euros which worked out at £614.

Staff in the shop were gobsmacked about how much it would have cost in the UK ie 1460 euros ....................... pays to shop around

Before buying at FC Moto or Bikerland I would suggest to use Motolegends as the do an EU price match (I know that from experience).
And you still have 6 years Rukka warranty which you won't get from Germany.

My 3 year old jacket is currently in Germany being repaired for a minor leak. Still under warranty. Cost £18 to post to bikerland though. So easy to do. So much money saved. Oh and it came with a back protector free as opposed to having to buy one in the uk.

Agree Andy - but it's only recently that they'd match the German prices and (certainly) Bikerland.de service os flawless too. When my Rukka Merlin leather jacket needed repair, they even sent me a free DHL label to send the jacket to them AND offered to send me a free loaner whilst mine was repaired. Posting stuff to Germany is just as quick as posting to Guildford, so I'd happily buy from either...

I know I'm dense most of the time, if Infinity cannot sell one where did the price come from ?

Could it be that £135 was the fuck off and annoy someone else price !

It is a shame that an existing Rukka customer is treated in such a shabby manner, if you can find £1,600 down the back off the couch, who knows what else you'd purchase next; £1,100 Daytona boots ???

Customer service works

fair enough but for me i like to know i can just pop in local like:D

My wife's knickers have more material in them and she ain't a big women. A buff or similar item will do a better job and won't flap against your lid when moving.

Would your wife's knickers flap against your lid :D

The storm collar doesn't flap against your lid if you fasten it correctly ... it's a great piece of kit that completely stops water getting down your neck when you're in constant rain all day ... a buff wouldn't do that!

OK, I know this isn't Rukka, but my Richa outfit cost me £580, 7 years ago. I still wear it to this day and it is still perfectly waterproof.....why pay £1400, is this for jacket and trousers, or just jacket? The biggest problem I have is they don't make this version any more, but they do make decent gear.

I'm still at a loss to understand how anyone can lose a storm collar? :duno

Once removed, mine lives inside the inner pocket of my jacket

This is a great thread.

Bod goes to the NEC, enquires (through a game of guess the price ping pong) about the cost of an item he believes to be as useless as his wife's knickers at keeping the damp out and has no intention of buying, simply to confirm to himself that it's a rip-off.

Bikermates, gotta love 'em.

Went to the bike show with the intention of buying a pair of Rukka trousers, which i got at a good price. Whilst there i asked about the storm collar. My rukka jacket is second hand, as in the past i couldn't afford £900 + for what was/is the Best bike clothing depending on your point of view and experience.
The jacket didnt come with a storm collar as the previous owner lost it, hence why i was asking how much. The salesman appeared genuine from the conversation i had with him and his colleagues. Ive just paid a large amount of money for his wares, why try and piss me off with a false price. Once i had a look at it theres no way i would pay a substantial amount of money for some stretchy cloth, zip and a bit of velcro. My guess was £30 to buy one on its own, at that price i might have considered it. It probably cost no more than pennies to manufacture in some sweat shop.
The armas jacket has been worn on european trips and ireland last year, with a buff, still not had water running down my back no mater who hard the irish weather tried. I still think this is a fantastic piece of kit which has done everything i expected of it.
The point of the thread was rip off rukka, my personal view is that some where down the line we brits are being ripped off, either by the supplier, importer or seller. Your guess is as good as mine whom that could be.

I am wondering if German prices are more competitive as there appears to be 2 independant importers of Rukka Motorcycle Clothing in Germany ( one in Hamburg and one south of Stuttgart ) whereas the UK only has one who will be able to set their prices with no competition
