Do you ever get the feeling that sometimes we are getting ripped off in this country?I felt like ordering the Wunderlich Ergo screen (the adjustable one)for my 800gs so I went to the Wunderlich site and it`s 189euro BUT they dont ship to the UK.It`s appears that Nippy Norman is the sole importer and he wants £189 :eek:thats £40 (approx) more then the Europeans pay:p1zzed: Any dealers near Calais? I could collect next time i`m in France.
Sorry for the rant but it pisses me off so any suggestions welcome(within reason)

No need to rant it's not a ripoff, the (sole) supplier can charge whatever he thinks he can get away with.

On the other hand you don't have to play ball - can you not find a German dealer that will post to the Uk?

Yea thats a good idea,in fact I have done just that:thumb2 plus even with a paypal surcharge it still works out cheaper then Wunderlich direct(a few pennies)

It's a big bad world, but we can access a lot of it on the internet.

If you don't want the perceived security of a UK based seller then you are free to source your goods almost anywhere in the world.

:nenau

Have it sent to me in Belgium and I'll bring it over next time I'm across. I'm looking at being near Windsor mid September for a long weekend . PM me if interested.

Well I got the screen from Germany and it turned up yesterday.Tracked postage, only a small delay as the screen was not in stock and for 188 euros which is a whole euro less then Wunderlich want.Magic:thumb2For anybody remotely interested here is the link.

i would recomend anyone to buy from germany i ave done so many times at a significant reduction to UK prices. I n fact on many occassions when i have approached UK businesses for supply they have said out of stock and quoted 5 days delivery time from their suppliers in Germany!!!

Yep,this is the third item I have bought from Germany,Im lucky that most Germans speak or understand English, bless em.When I thanked Roger from gs-parts and told him I had received the screen he was shocked by the delay and said next time he will bring it on his GS.

Its just not motorcycle parts and Germany its most of the world and teh UK. I've just got a GoPro HD Hero2 camera (motosport edition) from the USA at $249 and its £299 over here which is a whole lot cheaper. I admit I have a colleague in teh office in Houston and I had it posted to his house using the free p&p and another clooeague flying back with it but why do we pay so much when clearly someone is making a fortune over here.....!!

in fairness, VAT is a largish chunk of that. not that we don't get shafted here

It is because too many traders cant be bothered to work out the price going by the current exchange rate, and just change the dollar, euro etc sign for a pound sign.
