They post where they're going to be...or a list of places they could be at, that still leaves dozens of great roads to ride progressively. I doubt many on here have much to worry about...unless you ride like a nobber.
True Dave I looked at the roads list, realised I rarely use them & if I do stick to the posted limits

3 killed in Cumbria between 2-4pm yesterday afternoon & took out a car driver in one accident who was also killed & a cyclist, who was seriously injured in another between Sedburgh & Hawes

We see this each and every year tho don't we. (You know this isn't a dig at you in any way) lots of bikers ride Spring and Summer. They get back on their bikes after a 4/5 month lay off. Their brains tell them they are still riding gods. Their skills actually need a brush up. Off they go and overcook stuff. See it more in March/April than later in the year when people either calm down or see the headlines about road deaths (of course it will also be linked to myopic car and lorry drivers etc)

Popped up to the Lakes on Saturday using the A65.
Devils Bridge was busy but no sign of traffic enforcement going up or in the Lakes.
On the way back the A65 had a police car and bike on patrol, although ironically I saw the bike pulling a car over.

However there seems to be some big numbers this March - far higher than other years IIRC
Yesterday, I was acutely aware of how road rusty I was, (despite doing a bit of trialriding and quite a bt of Trials overwinter) how cold the road was, how much grit and gravel and detritus there was on the roads and with that in mind I spent a few hours on completely deserted back roads and avoided A roads in the main

the high proportion of motorcycle accidents does seem to have started early but it could be just the fact the information is easily available

Another one down near Ilkley, on the A660 between Ilkley and Otley, This was about 2230 last night, don't know when it happened though. Bike on the verge on it's sidestand with a liberal sprinkling of bits around it, maroon/red ZZR600 i think. No police or sign of the rider.

Hardly ever ride the trail bike to Squires, too many eyes & could be easily followed home. Paranoid maybe but it has actually happened....Only so you can show off, on he Serow

Heard of another fatal accident this evening - a biker overtaking a car at speed whilst the car was also overtaking.
So sad to hear of incidents that could be easily avoided. I feel for their family & everyone involved

It's not just the family etc. My friend was first on scene to the one Elle has mentioned. I don't have full details but she said she needed all three emergency services as the bike was a fire ball and the guy thrown a fair distance. The girl driving the car was devastated and will have to live with that memory for the rest of her life.
