Is it me?
Does anyone else think the new shape screen seems to funnel road noise straight to your head?
Bit of a daft thing to ask...but just discovered 'posting'

Am considering shoving one of her indoors many many cushions in the gap but sort of takes away that adventure look!

I mainly wear ear plugs that cut 50% of noise. Rode the bike the other day without them and yes there is a lot of noise coming up from the front

Ear plugs back in then :D

On Anekees as well

That gap is there for a reason to help reduce turbulence behind the screen so best leave it clear, as suggested get some comfy ear plugs and a decent helmet, Schuberth etc.

I get it too. I would have thought it more likely the road noise comes straight up through the gap for the forks.

I'm on ContiTrailAttack2's and notice significant differences on different road surface.

+1 on the road noise

+1 on Anakees

+1 on coming from the front

+1 with earplugs

I'm always surprised when I meet motorcyclists that don't wear earplugs, these days I can't ride without them.

If you don't you should, your ears will thank you in years to come.

Yip still on original Anakees.
Yip use ear plugs...but not in town....only longer journeys

Just wondered if someone had a wee 'widget' or something to 'deflect' the noise

Not tee worry

Ear plugs are the wee widgets you need, though that sort of negates the point of spending 700 quid on an Akra lol

I did some local running about today and left plugs in my pocket .......

Why you may ask :nenau well I was mesmerised by the beautiful sound the Akro makes :thumb2 burble pop pop growl pop growl burble :bow

July :D

I've managed to make mine remarkably quieter, I've just fitted Michelin PR 4 Trail major difference and they feel great. Oh and mine had the Anakee 3

I don't think I shall be using the Anakee again

They really are awful tyres. Noisy but I find the braking is far worse than when I had contis fitted. I'm destroying these anakees as fast as I can to get some pr4s on.

I got 5000 out of the rear Anakee but the difference with PR4 is amazing completely transforms the bike even the bumps in the road are smoothed out even more. If I went back to the adventure tyre I think I will try the conti trial attack I've not had them before.
But to be fair I don't think there will be anything out there that can beat the PR4 for a while yet.

My bike only has 600 km on it, but i want to throw the Anakees away. They handle OK, but are so bloody NOISY!

PR4s coming - had a set on my Explorer - great rubber.

Do you run with either one or both baffles out? I find the noise of the Akro a bit disappointing after the one on my K1300!!

+ 1 on that just fitted PR4 after the Anakee wore out major difference it's a different bike, I will never have the Anakee again

I've got both baffles in mate. Coming from a K1200GT it's quite noticeably louder.

I'm happy with the standard Akro bark :D

Interesting reading your comments on PR,s
I have had a pair fitted today. The Anakee,s were fine lasted 7700 miles, didnt notice a big noise issue.
I have only ridden 30 miles home so to early to judge noise difference but i did think that they made the ride smoother.:D

The only way I can explain the difference between the tyres is that the anakees are like having solid side walls! and the contis I had before we're like there was no sidewall as it was so soft. The ride was soooooo much better with contis and none of the horrendous road noise thrown up at you from the 28inch deep tread caverns! They also tram line badly, remind me of a set of avons I had about 15 years ago on a fazer.
