I wanted to put this thread in the Rant Forum, but couldn't think up enough expletives to vent my true feelings

Just purchased a new 1250 GS: CO2 emissions stated as 110g/km. Road tax £88.

I also have a c-class Mercedes Bluetec: CO2 emissions stated as 113g/km. Road tax £30. I don't have a caravan, but if I did, it would incur no additional road tax fee.

So, a car that pollutes more than my bike, occupies twice the space, and is allowed to tow free of charge is less than half the road tax.

Where is the fucking logic in that? And the first fucker that says "I blame Brexit" will be shot at dawn. :D

And a bike has two less wheels and is lighter than a car( in most cases) and doesn’t wear out the road as much.no logic.

I've just paid my tax and it was £91, not £88... My bike is a 2011 GS. Is that the reason?

And I can't remember last years tax but it seems to have gone up a lot - or is my memory failing me?!

The whole things gone daft now - tax is standard with a surcharge for the first 5 years if the rrp of the car is above 40k. So, last year you could buy, for example, a well spec'd BMW i3, and pay zero road fund licence and this year it's over 40k so 450 a year to tax for the first 5 years. Meanwhile, a Mustang V8 under 30k would not incur the extra charge. How "green" is that?

I'm quite happy

My gas guzzling super polluting 233gm unit only costs me £350 a year ;)

Yet another un announced stealth tax by this thievin Tory bunch of cnuts !

My gas guzzler costs nearly £500 a year. I think they should be the cheapest because the quicker we heat the planet up the sooner we can do away with central heating and stop polluting the planet.

Time for Velcro numberplates methinks...

(Yes, I posted the same comment on the other thread, but I intended to post it here and I can't be arsed to go back & delete it. :P )

St Eptoe had it right when he wrote:

Ride the bike without taxing it...... if any cameras pick you up you'll get a nice letter from the DVLA asking you to pay tax from the month you were clocked.... what have you got to lose

Meanwhile my little Fiat 500 Twin Air does 55mpg, costs nowt to tax and is only £181 per anum fully comp for me and SWMBO

The world's gone fucking mad I tell thee :blast

Not to mention those tax avoiding, methane farting cyclists.
