So Had the Vextrix Delivered on Friday and told how to ride it then off you go for the afternoon!!
Well I was very Impressed with the Performance, Quick off the mark and Silent! Its odd at traffic lights with no Noise at all, no vibration no tacho Nothing that lets you know the bike is alive!
Got it up to 62mph on the open road but at that speed it uses a lot of Electricity!! They say the Range is 60miles. I only managed 32 Miles of Really giving it some stick ,full throttle all the way and some fast road work . Therein was the problem for me .The Range. It was a shame as I like the Ethos I liked its silence and the way you creep up on Pedestrians Dawdling across the road as they do! I liked its Looks .It handled well though a bit Skitish on wet white lines and manhole covers ,but my T max which I use for town has a range of 110 miles when I Hoon it and I can fill up and be on my way in 3 mins rather than a 3 hour charge ,6 hour for a full charge .BUT apparently to do 1000miles will cost £12 :eek:It is 100% tax write offable per year NO road tax and cheap to insure! .If your daily Grind is 30-40 miles It is definitley worth a look. Mine varies from 20 to 120 per day so untill Battery Technology imptoves I will stick with the T Max

Hmm, interesting. What do they cost to buy? I'm looking at moving so will have a 20 mile round trip, obviously it seems I could cane it both ways and have enough range and just charge over night I guess.....

Dunno about these electric scoots:confused: Had a Yamaha T-Max for a few years and loved it. A big scoot that handles like a bike with its centre mounted engine, and quick of the mark with its grunty 500 twin. A good reasonable compromise although for commuting would be a Yam Majesty 400 capable of cruising at 80+, good mpg and reasonable second hand deals about. Nobody waves at you though:nenau I'd pass the same 2 or 3 sportsbike guys every other day on my T-Max - result..blank stare straight ahead. Next day on bike...big waves and nods. Cupid stunts:mad:
Good advice and info on www.maxi-muppets.co.uk

Maybe we should have a scooter section as well?

It was £7,000 when I tried it at Canary Wharf last year ... very very expensive thing.

Nice if you can afford it. For that money I buy a second hand 1200GS!!

For that money you could buy two! (I'm not going to comment about needing a spare! ;))

I looked at these at the Excell. £6900:eek: I'd buy a Honda 125cc scooter for a couple of grand. Similar performance, better range and nearly £4000 to spend on running it.
I'm sure that if you rode the Vectrix for the 10 years that the battery is supposed to last it would start to save you some money, but I've never kept any vehicle that long.:augie
