I have no immediate plans to ride off road and if I did would be happy to fit TKCs or similar. What road only tyres have people fitted to their F800GS

TIA

I had the OEM Bridgstones, crap in the cold and wet. Then had Tourance Next on it, very good but I found them a bit dodgy on uneven surfaces, they tended to track into ruts and overbanding, needing a solid input to 'pull' the bike back onto line. I've got Conti Trail Attack 2 on mine now, and they have been bloody brilliant. Grippy and stable, giving me so much confidence, I've had two holidays in the Highlands on them so far and had the most fun I've ever had on the bike, absolutely superb tyres.

Course, you'll get 20 replies and have 20 different tyres recommended to you - but you did ask!

OEM BingoWings are just about OK but will be fitting Anakee IIIs on mine next after experiencing them on a loan bike yesterday. Very nice tyre.

That's 2 tyre recommendations so far. Only 20 to go.

+1

Last really well too - 8500 out of my last set :thumb2

My first 800 came with the Scorpion trails, loved them. They gave me the ability to hang off a bike like the GS just like a road bike. I've never had a bike cranked over so much dry and wet roads, always knew how the bike would react to the changing road conditions.

My current 800 has Anakee 2's, not a patch on the Scorpions so I bought a set of Pirelli's yesterday ready for when they need changing in the near future.

Hi do you still feel the scorpion is the best tyre for the f800gs
Regards john

Hallo, Tia, I just switched from Dunlop TR91's (19k on these, very good tire!) to Michelin PR4 trails, albeit in size 110/80-19 and 150/70-17, on my f650gs. Michelin rear tire was only 1mm wider than Dunlop on rim. So far excellent choice. Even improved the ride over the TR91's, which is a surprise. PR4's came out #1 in german tire test recently. Find reviews on google and you'll be won over too.
Greetz, Hans

Just had a pair of Pilot Road 4 trail delivered from Germany. Took all of 4 days from order and that included the weekend. Got them at Mytyres. £197 delivered. £20 for fitting locally to loose wheels so it's a decent saving over the local tyre dealers. Main dealer wanted £285

Davey what bike are you on? My f650gs goes very well with the PR4's! Especially under very hard braking the front keeps going in a straight line, the dunlops used to swim a bit under such strain. And they are comfortable, and precise and neutral in steering. Also easier to brake in a curve. I keep 'em on 2.3/2.6 bar. 2.5/2.8 full load. enjoy!

Well my last rear Tourance barely scraped 4000 miles, when it's gone, I think I will go for PR4s bought on line and fitted by a local bike shop who doesn't charge a mint especially if you leave them with him rather than wait.

Thanks for the advice.

Another vote for the Conti Trail Attack. On my second pair and have no reason to try anything else...
