Has anyone tried fitting the rear light section off a RS/R to a GS? I’ve not seen any threads on it, but have seen a few bikes via Instagram with it and I think it looks so much better! I’m wondering if it is ‘plug and play’ or requires something more complicated.

strange is it not, lots of other models are back to a bike with a real rear light, and real indicators...

I have not investigated, but are the children's spangle indicators not three wire - and real bikes two wire...

if so at some point you'll need to split to go back to enable you to make yours back into a real motorcycle - and along the way some software is probably going to melt down with its budget bulb error silliness, and whilst it will be doable - you need an adapter to get you there rather than chopping stuff up

Whats the issue with theGS lights?

or have you been listening to fluenzas saying there is a non issue??

last of the 1250s did the same as the R1300GS - something like model year 2024, 1250 GSs have light set up like bikes always had, then for 2025 it has a tail light but its not connected anymore and instead the indicators light up red till you indicate then its tries to do both red and orange

so a small indicator is now the indicator, the side light and the brake light - WHY !!!

quite a few threads on here, half the crowd says it great and safer - then half say they followed their mate couldn't understand what's going on - and a smaller proportion convinced it does not fit road regs and won't pass an MOT

a few aftermarket canbus gadgets on the market - none turning it back to normal - rather a halfway house

Purely aesthetics. I don’t like the back end and think the RS rear light looks much better…

Well do it then, ……and keep us updated on how you get on with it, which parts you need, and difficulty rating of the swap.
Oh, and we like pictures!

the bikes are completely different, is it not obvious? I suppose you could hang one on the gs with some bent metal brackets and duct tape. What are you going to plug it in to?
