Road tyres

Looking to get some new tyres for road use only so i want something nice and sticky . Been told to go for conti road attack ? Anyone got any good advice or experience with them or a better tyre ???
My bike is a 2009 GSA

Ive got bridgestones on at the min and allthough they have been ok they seem to square off pretty quickly

If you want tyres that will make you do truly silly things, I reccommend michelin pilot road, I run them on my GSA when on road. Lovely, grippy and dual compound so deal with the motorway really well too. Great road tyre! TKCs for the dirt

I'm a road only rider on my 1200GS, so have researched the options.

I wanted my favourite Michellin Pilot Road 2... but they don't do a front in out size.. You have to mix a rear Pilot Road 2 with a front Pilot Road....

I have run Continental Road attacks on a previous GS, and they were really good.. No problems at all.... Though did tear up a bit when I ran them below pressure on Scottish roads, as you can see below....

I eventually decided, after hearing lots of great reports from other other riders, that the Dunlop Roadsmarts are the way to go.... Only a couple hundred miles so far, so I can't give an intimate report, apart from they feel a lot nicer than the 'orrible Bridgestone battlewings they replaced...

Agreed,just fitted Michelin Pilots on the GS,working well on the road,everyone on here will have their own choice of tyre but these are working well for me.

Yeah, but the combo' works fine. I've been running them for a about 3 years with both the old pilot and now the 2 on the rear. I really recommend them if you ride all year as they are great in the wet and will do nearly double the mileage of something like a tourance.

I've tried most of the road biased options - the Dunlop Roadsmarts are the best imo albeit quite expensive. The Avons are a good cheap alternative.

Just fitted some Trail Attacks after being on Tourances for past 3 years. I didn't think a tyre could make that much difference but they really have. Can throw the GSA around much more now...very very happy. Not sure how long they will last but for now they do the job.

I'm tempted to try the Dunlops next just to see what they are like...............

My last set of cont road attacks were super grippy but the rear died quite quick... my next set will be trail attacks as tbh unless you are Rossi my opinion is that you woudl struggle to tell the diference.
Continental are 5 star sir.

I find the Roadsmarts are better in the wet - although the Avons are as good in dry conditions. You can also get the 19inch front - with the Avons you have to compromise with the older version.

I used Pilot Sports on my K1200S and, whilst they were great one-up, the carcass is very soft and the side walls flex excessively two-up with luggage which makes the handling very vague and insecure

My GS has Trail Attacks and they seems to grip and handle very nicely wet or dry. The chicken strips disappeared straight away

Don't know what the life will be like as I've only done 700 miles so far, but then I killed Tourances off in less than 4k on my Craponord

.....Trail Attacks....Not sure how long they will last but for now they do the job.

Mine lasted longer than Tourances and didn't square off. Much better, IMO

Conti Trail Attacks ..... Done over 10k hard miles on my 1150 and still going strong. Really give confidence - wet, cold, hot or dry.
