One other factor to bear in mind when ordering a 'Stich is that you will probably get done for customs duty, VAT and (to me most annoying of all) a "handling" fee from Fedex or Parcelforce who've been awarded the contract from HMG.

My Darien arrived within 3 or 4 days (can't quite remember) of ordering.

All the more reason to check the For Sale section and see if theres one for sale. If you're a 46L that is

I have been thinking about getting an Aerostich, and I think the above post does have a valid point, all well and good to have armouring but not so much if it isn't in the right place, you may as well not have it.

Any thoughts on the matter?

If anything a one piece holds everything in place better than a two piece.

If the roadcrafter one piece fits you as it should (same applies to any clothing with armour) you'll be perfectly safe.

I have had 3 roadcrafter one piece suits . They are excellent unless you are riding in rain for several hours , although I believe the new ones have better waterproof zips. I have worn them in all weathers , from -5 to 30 degrees C. The beauty of them in hot climates , is you can open all the vents and let the air through , and when you stop , your can drop them off in seconds and start sun bathing , while your mates a sweltering in there heavy trousers ! Winter riding I use a heated vest.
I have come off a couple off time and the suits have protected me well .
As for sizing , PHONE them , they are really very good and helpful.

I would agree with Steptoe's comments regarding the fit of Aerostitch suits. I have spent many years riding and wearing many different suits - my solution now is a one-piece Aerostitch Roadcrafter suit for commuting to work and wearing in summer, and for winter a slightly larger sized two-piece Aerostitch Roadcrafter suit which I can get thicker layers underneath. Both are waterproof although seven and five years old, as long as care is taken care doing them up, protection is excellent IMHO, and as both bought second hand cost about £400 for the two suits.
