I've got this 'ere Aerostich Roadcrafter suit, like. And I'm thinking of getting the Aerostich backprotector to go with it.

Are they any good - fit, comfort, covering the old spine and all that?

Any experience out there?

Thanks :thumb2

Humble experiance

From ones humble experiances ,and usage , i would recomend
the New Dainese Full length Back protector.
From what i have seen there is nothing out there to compare.

Unlike the previous correspondent I'll answer the question asked. :augie

Have the back protector fitted to my Roadcrafter and being designed specifically for the suit the fit is excellent and I don't even know its there.

Protection coverage is pretty good as it comes down to the base of your spine.

Other major advantage is it's an integral part of the suit when the suit comes off you don't have to worry about what to do with a seperate protector.

If your ordering a back protector why not get the hip armour as well, great addition to the suit.:thumb

Note that there are two versions of the back protector; a large, all covering version and a minimalist up and down the spine and across the lower back version.

The first of these makes it quite difficult to step out of your suit, roll it up and stuff it in a bag. I use a 90 litre North Pole duffle to hump mine around when I have to travel with my kit off the bike - the back protector fits quite well into that. Don't know about the second one.

I'll echo what was said up there though - you don't know it's there.

I have aerostich back protector in Darien jacket and Roadcrafter.

Very easy to use, don't really think about them.

Hope I don't get to find out if they are any good.

With the Corbin seat, it can ride up on the pillion raised bit, IYSWIM

Thanks for the replies and advice all! :thumb2

I had a look on the Aerostich website and could only see one type for the Roadcrafter? :nenau linky no. 129

The bohn one seems to be a higher standard. Fits as well. Is just as comfortable. I much prefer it to the Aero back protector.
Here's the link. I use the one on the left..
