Has anyone managed to get hold of a pair of these yet. I'm struggling to find a front tyre not sure if they're really available yet and off to sunny Spain next month :)

Thx not come accross them before I'll give them a bell in the morning :thumb

You could also try Tony Salt Tyres, they are up my neck of the woods but will do mail order and I use them for all my tyres. They always have Roadsmart / PR2 / 3 in stock in the usual sport bike sizes, but if they are available for the GS they will be able to get them.

Tony himself still runs it and is in every day and is also a bit of a legend :)

Hmm typical Dunlop have been promising them for weeks still not availaible. Let's hope the rain in Spain stays mainly in the plain - and not the Picos de Europa :(

Pilot Road 3's are available for the GS, I ran a set on my unrestricted ZX12R and they handled well in the wet and the dry and stood up to a couple of 180+MPH runs at a "Run what ya brung".

I will be sticking a set on mine when I can afford it. I had RS2's on my Tiger 1050, and felt like I could get my ear down with them fitted :)

Thanks for that but the Roadsmarts are so good I don't feel the urge to try anything else - and my rear tyre is still in good condition. I read a tyre review recently that suggested the PS3 edged it in the wet but the new roadsmart was superior in the dry which is where I do most of my riding these days :aidan

I'm sure I saw GS sizes were due beginning of June. Can't remember where I picked up that nugget though..

I've been told anywhere between 1 - 6 weeks

Sitting in a coffee shop opposite FWR waiting to have a Roadsmart 2 fitted to the front - they've finally arrived :bounce1

The front was £123 fitted :beerjug:

Fitted a pair yesterday .. barely done ten miles so far but feel very neutral and first impressions are good ... :thumb2

How do they compare with the TR91's?

Since getting the TR91's I invested in a second hand cast wheel set (off here..) and put TKC's on my oe spoked wheels. I put the TR91's on the cast wheels to use them up.

I haven't had a chance to play on the Road smarts yet other than a couple of laps of a roundabout  just to see how they feel.

If you want the adventure look in a tyre, I have played with trail attacks, exp's and the TR91, and I would always go back to the TR91 - really good tyre. What I liked about it was the damp / wet, grip / feedback, and the very neutral feel of it. There were never any shimmies or overbanding wanders (that the trail attacks used to suffer with) and it would just roll from up right into lean in a nice smooth motion. (no falling in or 'push' get down yer fecker.. !).

I got about 4K out the rear, but it's my toy - I don't commute on it and it's all play or Rapid teaching.

How do the TR's feel compared with RS's ? Don't know yet! Done all of five minutes ... (Track day at Rockingham in a couple of weeks - I'll let you know then !)

Thanks Giles. Looking forward to any update.

Just got back from a weekend in Wales - first ride out in wet conditions and the Roadsmart 2s were superb. Really like these :D

Good to hear - been trying to decide what to fit next - can you provide an update on the wear and how they handle when your about 50% through them?

Sure. I've also had the RS1 and their wear rate was good with consistent performance. I've not tried PR3 as I was put off by the PR1 which I thought were crap. Been through a number of brands including the Trail Attack and the dunlops are the best of the bunch.

Roadsmart 2's

I've covered 3,000 miles so far with Roadsmart 2's on a GSA, mostly 2 up and full luggage. Lots of brisk cruising plus some B road scratching. Wear rate is good, wet and dry grip is excellant (hope that's not famous last words).
Cheers.
