Just put the bike back together after having the rocker covers, engine bars and bashplate blasted and powdercoated. Although the finish is not metallic the colour is a very close match and does enhance the bike.

Oi, Snooky, I was about to ask the same.

Lord Snooty, did the powder coating reduce the size of any of the holes?

Were the gasket faces kept free from the powder coating process?

The cost to me was £40 cash, but bear in mind I've known and played rugby with Dave for years, but he does a great job and he is always fairly priced.

The powder coating did not affect the size of the holes and everything went back together sweet as a nut.

The gasket faces are masked off, it is a heavy foil type of masking cos, I guess this is due to the baking process, it is very sticky and I had to use a heat gun to peel it off the mating surfaces and then give them a good clean with white spirit to remove any glue residue. A few minutes work just to make sure the surfaces were ok and then the rocker covers bolted back on no problem.

I'm going to do my wishbone next.

Mike, what are the back thingies (tecknikol term) on teh fork lowers? What are they made of pls?

Ta

They are called Lizard Skins and are available from Halfords in the pushbike section, they are designed to protect swingarms on cycles and cost £9.99 each. They are made of neoprene and have velcro fasteners, you just need to take a pair of scissors to them to make cutouts to go round the brake calipers moounts. They do a good job of protecting the lower forks from stone chips etc.

Oh right, I know exactly what they are now. I have some of that kit on my MTB. I didnt know they did them big enough to fit the GS forks.
Now I know, I minght have a gander next week

Cheers Mike
