I had a new 2016 GS as a loaner whilst my bike was in for a service today and I was really pleased to get back on mine and return the dealers bike. Acceleration urgency was nice but the ride was awful. I tried all of the ESA settings in turn and couldn't get on with any of them. Build quality seems to be at an all time low as the bike was already looking scruffy.

I too think the suspension is not as good as it used to be, a lot more on the firm side, rather than comfort.

Careful or you'll be banned from toilet forever.

I have to go for a piss in the beer garden these days :D:D:D

I have had two LCs, one twin cam and the original 1200GS - the LC is the best handling and ride of them all - perhaps the OP's bike's suspension has gone soft and he's got used to it?

ridden at least 5 gs and gsa wc esa models and the suspension on all of them including my own is harsh compared with a tc model.
They may be faster and handle better as standard( due to stiffer suspension) but they are not as comfortable and in the case of my tc with maxton it would outhandle my gsa wc with esa but with the advantage or rider comfort

TBH the one I rode seemed ok to me on the suspension front and handled well. Having ridden with nutty along a very very bumpy fast back road around strines, I can confirm that his GSA WC seemed more than happy to soak up the bumps too.

They are still shite though :D

Mine must have been one of the very few good ones!

Shouldn't have sold it.:blast

It might be that I've got used to mine and only had the LC for the day so not really a proper comparison but I was expecting more.

Never thought I would have sold my hexhead for the LC but definitely couldn't go back, have done 3000ish miles on the LC, loving it.

Off topic but the Strines has been re surfaced Phil, it's an even better ride now.

I used to love the buckaroo road, gutted!!

It'll be full of sportsbike knobbers now :(

Surface dressed only, still lumpy as feck on the last stretch out to the A57, any power ranger nonsense will still see ya in the moore or dry stone wall

I tried the LC and thought it's probably a better bike on any objective assessment, but I'm not objective when it comes to bikes and I just like my TC and will stick with it until old age and muscle wastage means I can't wheel the bugger out of the garage any more. Then I'll get a KTM 690 :D
