Romania Route advise

Hi guys,

Am planning the following for late May early June..

day1 Suceava - Cascada Cailor in Parcul National Park - Cluj
day2 Cluj - Sighisoara
Day3 Sighisoara - Sibiu
Day4 Sibiu - Bran(via TransF highway)
Day5 Bran - Brasov
Day6 Brasov - Constanta - Vama Veche...

Anyone share any local knowledge on this trip as regards roads and must see spots?

I'm hoping to camp where possible but any recommendations for hotel/gueshouse would be appreciated.

Finally should TransF Highway be open in May? and i've heard that Constanta and vama Veche are not worth the trip?? Any Advise...

id agree on the constanta bit,,,
roads are poor exept for the motorway (but ok on a gs)
the drivers are maniacs,,,,,
not quite on the route but VERY recomended

It's likely the TF won't be open but you may be lucky. Wasn't when we went last year mid/late May.

When in Sigisoara it's worth buying a ticket and staying in one of the hotels up at the Citadel - the very old part on the top of the hill.
Very atmospheric and, if you are into such things, there is Vlad Dracul's old house.

Watch the traffic cops - some roads there are radar traps every few kilometres.

Transfagarasan closed till the end of June

Usually Transfagarasan is not open in June. But you can go up and up till the point it is open.
